Turbolators

Turbulators are devices addressed to increase efficiency and performances of heat exchangers.

Alma Tech Srl offers different kind of turbulators able to fulfil customer requirements.

Turbulators are devices used in heat exchangers to improve the efficiency of heat transfer. They work by creating turbulence within the fluid flow, which increases the heat transfer coefficient and improves overall performance. There are several types of turbulators, including twisted tape, strip turbulators, hitrans matrix, wire turbulators, mixers, and inserts.

Turbulators in tubes are commonly used in shell and tube heat exchangers and air coolers. They are inserted into the tubes and can improve heat transfer by up to 150-200% compared to plain tubes. Twisted tape and wire turbulators are commonly used in this application.

Turbulators in boilers are also commonly used to improve heat transfer efficiency. They can be installed in the firetube or watertube section of the boiler to increase inner turbulence and surface area available for heat transfer. Strip-turbulators are commonly used in this application.

Lube oil heat exchangers, which are used to cool high viscosity fluids, can also benefit from the use of turbulators. Inserts can be used in these heat exchangers to improve heat transfer efficiency and reduce fouling.

Mixers can also benefit from the use of turbulators. By creating turbulence within the fluid flow, turbulators can improve mixing and reduce the amount of energy required for mixing.
